More Tips On Effective Anti-Aging Skin care

by James Redder

Anti-aging are rapidly increasing in popularity today. This is due in part to their ability to minimize the visible signs of aging which is important to older people. There has also been a trend toward using skin care products that increase the production of collagen. Collagen is one of the primary proteins contained in skin. It is also part of a group of naturally occuring chemicals called antioxidants. Antioxidants assist in minimizing the signs of visible signs of aging and are found in our body and in some foods.

You probably know many anti-oxidants by name, including vitamin C, the use of which is still, even now, hotly debated in the science and nutrition community. The main problem when using any skin care treatments which use vitamin C is that oxidization can occur as soon as they have contact with the air.

Other skin care treatments which mimic the effects of vitamin C are being tried all the time which are hoped to be more stable in the atmosphere and also cheaper to produce. Unfortunately the anti-oxidant products used to replace vitamin C are not as effective but as vitamin E and lipoic acid can both have the same effect; this is not too much of a problem.

The body uses vitamin E as an antioxidant and is also used to increase the natural defense we have against disease, including many types of cancer, it is a fat soluble vitamin in people’s blood. Lipoic acid is found in every single human cell; it’s function is to provide energy and reverse much of the damage caused to the skin by aging.

The use of plants has not been overlooked either with many able to provide essences called phytochemicals which have proved successful in anti-aging skin care products. A further benefit of these phytochemicals is their ability to prevent the onset of breast cancer, prostate cancer and colon cancer all of which are on the increase globally.

For some time now it has also been known that the vitamins B5, B6 and B12 also have anti-aging skin care properties. This just goes to highlight just how complex and far reaching the whole field of anti-aging skin care products is and why so much more research is required.

In time new discoveries will be made advancing our understanding of the aging process and products that can reduce or reverse the effects more successfully. The amount of research going on in this field will undoubtedly bring results in time, hopefully bringing down the cost of these anti-aging skin care products in addition to increasing their reliability.

At the moment though, science is still behind the field of natural anti-aging methods and it might take some time to replace them. Regular sleep patterns, exercise, a good healthy diet and less stress will all contribute to reducing the signs of ageing, for instance!
