Facts and Fiction About Acne Cures
It’s interesting how many people still have so many common misconceptions about facial blemishes, and especially about something like acne skin care. Not only do these misconceptions fail to actually treat acne the way it should be treated, they may actually be doing quite a bit of damage to their skin and making it worse.
The good news is that acne skin care is not that difficult, if you know the real truth about what causes this skin condition and what you can do about it.
The cause of acne is pretty much well known by now. Dirt, oil, and other irritants settle in the pores and cause this irritation or eruption that we call a pimple or acne. This dirt can be from everyday pollutants and elements in the air; our skin exists to protect our innards from dirt so that’s why it settles there in the first place.
However, good acne skin care is important especially for those who live or work in highly polluted environments, or who work someplace where their skin is going to get dirtier than average. This can include working in landscaping or manufacturing facilities where there is a lot of powder or other irritants and elements.
If this sounds like you and you notice that your skin is especially dirty at the end of the day, acne skin care is going to be important to you.
Oil in our pores is mostly from a natural source - our skin produces it to stay supple and healthy. We all have oil on our skin, even though acne skin care is mostly associated with teens. While younger people often produce more oil because of hormonal effects, adults can suffer from this problem, too. Acne skin care doesn’t stop just because you’re older.
Many people make the mistake of stripping their skin with harsh cleansers. They believe that since dirt and oil cause their breakouts, removing these substances totally is the best idea.
However, too much of a good thing can cause problems as well! When we use very harsh products or are rough with our skin, this is not good acne skin care as we can very well be irritating our skin into producing even more oil.
And not all breakouts and blemishes are caused by dirt and oil; this too is a common misconception when it comes to acne skin care. Sometimes very sensitive skin will breakout into blemishes when it is irritated by products that contain dyes, perfumes, or other elements.
Sometimes, even just a new product that your skin is not used to can cause breakouts! This is why it’s important to use gentle products when you cleanse and moisturize for your acne skin care.
